About the role

EmbedPeople places South African professionals into established European teams as full-time, long-term members of staff. We’re hiring an SEO Specialist to join leading digital agencies in the Netherlands, working directly with their in-house teams on client websites.

This is a hands-on technical role. You won’t just be producing reports. You’ll be inside the sites, fixing what’s broken and making them faster, cleaner and easier to rank.

What you will do

  • Own technical SEO across a portfolio of WordPress sites, from audits through to implementation
  • Plan and run site migrations (domains, hosting, platforms, URL structures) without losing traffic
  • Improve site speed and Core Web Vitals
  • Monitor and interpret Google Search Console data, spot issues early and act on them
  • Set up and optimise Google Business Profiles and run local SEO campaigns
  • Work with content, dev and account teams to turn findings into results

What we are looking for

  • 3+ years in SEO, either agency-side or in-house
  • Proven experience running WordPress sites end to end: hosting, migrations, plugins, speed optimisation
  • Confident reading and explaining Google Search Console data
  • Hands-on local SEO and Google Business Profile experience
  • A portfolio of sites you own or have personally managed (not just client reports)
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Reliable internet connection and a quiet home workspace

  • Familiarity with tools like Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Semrush or GA4
  • Basic HTML/CSS or hosting/server knowledge
